Job Description
The Business Development Representative is a sales professional focused on building and managing a portfolio of small to medium-sized (SMB) customers across North America. This position offers the unique opportunity to sell multi-modal solutions across various industries, including, but not limited to, food and beverage, consumer packaged goods, manufacturing, and retail. This role leverages various tools to prospect, engage, and solicit new and existing customer's to expand ArcBest market share across key modal solutions. The focus off this position is on identifying new business opportunities and providing tailored logistics solutions that meet each customer's unique needs. The Business Development Representative serves as the primary point of contact for customer interactions, ensuring seamless coordination and exceptional service delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Prospect and generate leads through various channels (cold calling, email campaigns, LinkedIn, etc..) to identify potential customers.
  • Qualify and nurture leads by assessing customer needs, providing consultation, and focusing on selling all ArcBest solutions.
  • Develop and maintain strong, lasting relationships with key decision - makers in small to medium sized companies.
  • Maintain accurate records of all prospecting activities, sales interactions, and opportunity statuses in our customer relationship management software.
  • Proactively identify issues and resolve problems to uphold the commitment to service.
  • Own the entire sales cycle, from lead generation, to assisting and overseeing revenue collection process as needed.
  • Drive external, digital engagement expansion through key ArcBest products.
  • Continuously monitor industry changes, competitor activities, and market conditions to refine sales strategies and approaches.
  • Other duties and projects, as assigned.

Requirements
Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferred
Experience:
  • Previous customer sales, operations, or service experience, preferred

Other Details
Work Hours:
  • Generally, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm with occasional irregular hours depending on workload.
Travel Requirements:
  • Minimal (0%-25%)
Compensation:
  • This is an hourly position paid biweekly.
  • Variable compensation is included.
