Job Description
The Equipment Planning Coordinator II will monitor, assign, and provide repositioning of FLASH equipment as necessary including the use of Truckload and invoice approval. This position will assign converter gear pools, maintain balances, assist in new deliveries, and report costs associated with gear repositioning. The Equipment Planning Coordinator II will maintain foreign equipment routings, monitor, and follow up to ensure proper movement, and resolve damage claims.

Responsibilities
  • Assign FLASH equipment pools and coordinates adjustments or changes with the FLASH team.
  • Provide daily FLASH equipment repositioning instructions to the Service Centers.
  • Solve problems with FLASH and Service Center operations on FLASH applications for repositioning equipment.
  • Coordinate with Linehaul and Service Center operations best options for repositioning FLASH equipment.
  • Coordinate instructions with Service Center operations on all repositioning executed via Rail or Truckload.
  • Execute Truckload bookings and coordinates with Service Center pickup and delivery times.
  • Update all FLASH equipment moved via Truckload in equipment corrections.
  • Review and approve all Truckload invoices associated with the movement of FLASH equipment.
  • Assign converter gear pools, maintain balances, reposition as necessary, assist in converter gear moves reconciliation, and coordinate delivery of new gears as needed.
  • Will plan to coordinate gear repositioning of 102 wide gears as we approach the end of 96" gears.
  • Monitor city/rental trailer routings to ensure proper movement.
  • Monitor Rail/One Way routings to ensure proper movement.
  • Foreign trailer (o/w and rental) damages/claims reconciliation.
  • Daily review of ABFZ/ABFU return stations.
  • Other duties and projects, as assigned

Requirements
Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferred
Experience:
  • 5 years equipment planning experience or equivalent education, preferred
Computer Skills:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Additional Requirements:
  • Understanding of ABF Linehaul and Operations systems and system networks.
  • Understanding of offshore Ocean services, booking, and tracing systems, and the quotation process.
  • Understanding of Rail and Purchase Transportation operations systems.
  • Understanding of equipment pools, load patterns, and repositioning opportunities.

Other Details
Work Hours:
  • Generally, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm with occasional irregular hours depending on workload.
Travel Requirements:
  • Minimal (0%-25%)
Compensation:
  • This is a hourly position paid weekly.
  • Variable compensation is included.
