The Compliance Coordinator - Asset-Light HOS provides operational safety, compliance, and management of contractor's hours of service safety performance. This position is responsible for monitoring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, safety requirements, rules, company safety policies and procedures. This position is also responsible for training, coaching, and communicating Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations Parts 395.1 thru 395.38 Hours of Service of Drivers, Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) procedures, any HOS compliance violations with Independent Contractors and Fleet Owners when necessary. Responsibilities
- Provide training, coaching, and support to independent contractor drivers, fleet owners, owner operators for Hours-of-Service safety performance and compliance.
- Monitor independent contractor drivers and owner operators Hours-of-Service performance to ensure compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations Part 395.1 thru 395.38, and company safety policies.
- Assess and identify Hours-of-Service risks to company, independent contractor drivers, fleet owners, owner operators, and public safety.
- Perform safety compliance reviews of independent contractor drivers and owner operator's Hours-of-Service and safety performance to ensure compliance with applicable safety standards.
- Enforce Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations company and safety polices to ensure a culture of safety.
- Monitor fleet owners, independent contractor drivers, and owner operators, and at-risk Hours-of-Service driving behavior for intervention, coaching, performance management to reduce Hours-of-Service violations, form and manner violations, optimize availability, capacity, and retention.
- Analyze safety reports, metrics, and review Hours-of-Service violations to identify trends and recommend solutions to reduce violation risks and frequency.
- Collaborate with management and operations teams to execute company safety policies and programs and ensure compliance wtih all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Assist with the continuous improvement and develop corrective and preventative initiatives to heighten safety awareness, promote safe Hours-of-Service driving behavior, reduce violations, and improve retention.
- Ensure Hours-of-Service and EDL training is assigned and completed by independent contractor drivers, owner operators, and fleet owners (when applicable)
- Maintain knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations Part 395.1 thru 395.38 and company safety policies.
- Other duties and projects, as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain, preferred
- Experience will be considered in lieu of formal education
- 2 years Transportation experience (DOT and Safety preferred).
- 2 years Must have knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
- 2 years Related safety experience in commercial motor vehicle industry
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, required

Other Details
- Schedule is determined by business needs, but generally, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm with occasional irregular hours depending on workload.
- Minimal (0%-25%)
- This is an hourly position paid biweekly.
