Job Description
The AWP/Advocacy Administrator oversees the Alternative Work Program (AWP) and Advocacy Program for the Workers' Compensation Resolution Team. This position will work with the Workers' Compensation Team, local service center management, medical professionals, injured bargaining unit employees, labor union representatives, and other departments within the company to streamline the work process for the AWP/Advocacy programs.

Responsibilities
  • Review physician and medical records for work restrictions and placement of injured bargaining unit employees into AWP Program.
  • Review treatment schedule to ensure alignment with AWP best practice of treatment occurring outside, at the beginning, or at the end of a shift.
  • Communicate openly and consistently with injured bargaining unit employees, service center management, labor union representatives, and workers' compensation professionals.
  • Assist injured bargaining unit employees by providing clarity for AWP role and responding to employee concerns regarding the workers' compensation process.
  • Other duties and projects, as assigned.
  • Address issues and concerns of service center management in the coordination and implementation of AWP.
  • Mediate between bargaining unit employees, local service center management, and labor union representatives to ensure optimal outcome for both employee and employer.
  • Coordinate with service center management for the optimal number of AWP participants.
  • Research, develop, and enhance the AWP program on a continual basis.
  • Contact injured bargaining unit employees within one business day of injury occurrence.
  • Continue to develop and implement the AWP program by working with service center management in developing and modifying specific light duty roles.
  • Process and oversee injured bargaining unit employees' entry, progress, and exit in the AWP.

Requirements
Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferred
  • Experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
Experience:
  • 3 years in casualty and/or workers' compensation claims, preferred
Computer Skills:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Additional Requirements:
  • Knowledge of/experience with labor contracts and their interpretations, preferred
  • Must be a self-starter, good written and verbal communication skills, capable of working with others to ensure satisfactory results, detail oriented, and multi-task with emphasis on priority items.

Other Details
Work Hours:
  • Generally, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm with occasional irregular hours depending on workload.
Compensation:
  • This is a salary position paid biweekly.
