Job Description
The Investigator I builds relationships and assists Leadership with various tasks, including coaching and development opportunities with employees and assisting HR Leadership with various compliance related projects. This position involves a high degree of responsibility and will assist with compliance reporting, interpretation of policies and regulations to advise Leadership of appropriate courses of action, and managing the unemployment, termination, and retirement processes.

This position involves a high degree of responsibility and will assist with compliance reporting, interpretation of policies and regulations to advise Leadership of appropriate courses of action, and managing the unemployment, termination, and retirement processes.
Responsibilities
- Remain respectful and diplomatic in the face of difficult and uncomfortable situations surrounding an investigation.
- Develop trust and rapport and influence partners and business leaders on recommended best practices for disciplinary and investigation procedures.
- Review case data to identify trends and help develop long-term solutions and action plans for systemic issues.
- Provide Company responses to unemployment processes: gather and provide responses to unemployment claims, respond to state determinations, and prepare employees or outside representatives with defense statements for unemployment claims hearings.
- Manage the retirement and termination process.
- Serve as the HR authority for Company Leadership on coaching and assist with development and implementation of coaching and performance improvement plans.
- Develop, implement, and present training for managers and other leaders regarding government compliance and human resources policies.
- Interpret local, state, and federal regulations and develop and implement solutions to ensure compliance, if applicable.
- Assist with HR Compliance training programs and maintain vendor relationships, develop content, etc.
- Partner in analysis and revision of Company programs, policies, and practices to sustain a positive work environment and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Assist with testing Workday's capabilities and communicate as needed when functionality does/does not meet desired outcomes.
- Work with People Tech and AB Tech teams to configure Workday and other applications to comply with changes in federal, state, or local regulations or Company policies.
- Provide support including researching and resolving problems with the HRIS system to enhance or expedite processes in Workday.
- Champion Company values, policies, and initiatives.
- Other duties and projects, as assigned.
- Assist with investigations pertaining to employee-related issues and ensure consistent application of applicable Company policies as well as local, state, and federal regulations.
- Partner and consult with HR, Legal, Security, Safety, Internal Audit, and other departments to conduct a prompt, thorough, and fair investigation.
- Assist with investigations end-to-end, including complaint intake, background research, investigative interviews, and debrief meetings with leadership.
- Provide recommended action plans based on investigation findings.
- Document all interviews and meetings and save in confidential case files.
- Provide expert advice, guidance, and action items to Leadership based on analysis of business needs and workplace situations to ensure appropriate responses to employee related issues.
- Maintain a log to track performance coaching, leadership coaching, and investigations.
Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree, preferred
- Experience will be considered in lieu of formal education
- Previous experience in developing and delivering instructions, preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Other Details
Work Hours:
- Generally, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday through Friday with occasional irregular hours depending on workload.
- This is a salary position paid biweekly.
