Job Description
The Supervisor, Elite supervises the daily activities for the associated verticals and is responsible for enforcing Company and departmental policies including, but not limited to, customer SOP's, cost control, service compliance, and operational efficiencies all while encouraging departmental and company budget attainment. This position takes an active role in training, coaching, motivating, and developing the Logistics Specialists. The Supervisor, Elite is also responsible for continuous improvement activities while promoting and developing a positive work culture.

Responsibilities
  • Approve driver payables and over contract spend if necessary.
  • Establish customer SOP's and provide guidance to Logistics Specialists.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve customer relationships with large volume customers.
  • Ensure Logistics Specialists are available on the phones for both customer representation and pro fulfillment calls.
  • Advise Operations Manager regarding Logistics Specialists (merit increases, training, promotions, discipline, etc.).
  • Provide support for customer and contractor calls during periods of high business volumes.
  • Facilitate inner-departmental communication particularly with outside sales team.
  • Approve empty move positioning for the Panther fleet and know the balances of freight volumes to position our units.
  • Responsible for EDI communications and acceptance levels to protect scorecard.
  • Ensure proper quote disposition of Logistics Specialists in all IQS quote follow up metrics.
  • Provide recommendations on staffing changes and preparation for peak volumes.
  • Serve as the point of contact to receive all escalated customer and contractor calls and work with the customer/contractor to provide a best in class solution.
  • Research and investigate customer complaints and implement corrective actions.
  • Coach and ensure EMP, IQS, Payable Guidance, and Price Guidance metrics are followed and achieved.
  • Manage all customer shipments assigned to their respected business unit.
  • Account for the maintenance of all customer shipments assigned to their respected business unit.
  • Communicate, apply, and enforce company policies
  • Evaluate training needs of Logistics Specialists/verticals and provide feedback to Operations Manager.
  • Provide Comdata authorization for fuel advances on pro, lumpers, etc.
  • Other duties and projects, as assigned.
  • Mentor newly acquired employees and direct reports.

Requirements
Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferred
  • Experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
Experience:
  • Must be an accomplished Logistics Specialist or equivalent job function.
Computer Skills:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, preferred

Other Details
Work Hours:
  • Generally, 10:00 pm  - 6:00 am with occasional irregular hours depending on workload.
Compensation:
  • This is an hourly position paid biweekly.
  • Variable compensation is included.
