Job Description
The Process Compliance Supervisor directs and supports service centers in improving compliance to ABF Operations and Safety requirements and processes across all metrics including density-adjusted raw load average, transit compliance, and DSY productivity. This position advises service centers on the correct use of DMS software. The Process Compliance Supervisor plans, supervises, and controls available resources associated with the timely, damage-free, and safe loading/unloading of freight on assigned shifts. This position also travels to service centers to evaluate operational and safety processes, educates and trains management and DSY employees on ABF policies and procedures for the proper handling of freight, proper follow-up, corrective action, and preventative measures.

Responsibilities
  • Motivate, counsel, coach, and develop operations supervisors as future leaders for management teams.
  • Focus on system-level operational objectives including transit time, claims prevention, appointment compliance, and pickup fulfillment.
  • Provide training, performance feedback, and disciplinary recommendations as needed, to local management.
  • Detail and explain the basic operations metrics and outline a plan to drive results.
  • Maintain a positive attitude in a highly intense environment.
  • Assign tasks to employees; coordinate work assignments and monitor performance.
  • Other duties and projects, as assigned.
  • Work in a team setting to accomplish department goals.
  • Maintain appropriate load plans and ensure proper load balance for safe vehicle operation.
  • Facilitate an environment of customer obsession and cross-functional collaboration with all ArcBest divisions.
  • Provide a clean, safe working environment for all personnel and visiting customers.
  • Plan, supervise, and control available resources associated with the timely, damage-free, and safe loading/unloading of freight on assigned shifts.
  • Foster safe handling, loading, unloading, and storage of hazardous materials.
  • Maintain a positive labor relations environment with the assistance of the Service Center Manager and the Regional Employee Relations Manager.
  • Manage multiple concurrent goals aligned with producing efficient and reliable service throughout our network.

Requirements
Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferred
Experience:
  • Service center, transportation, and/or other supply chain experience, required
  • Supervisory experience, preferred
  • ABF operations experience, preferred
Computer Skills:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficient in ABF operations systems (DMS and/or Legacy).
Additional Requirements:
  • Working knowledge of freight, imports, exports, and proper freight handling techniques.
  • Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions.

Other Details
Work Hours:
  • Work hours vary based on scheduling to provide system coverage during normal business hours including nights, weekends, and travel time.
Compensation:
  • This is a salary position paid biweekly.
  • Variable compensation is included.
