Job Description
The Vice President, Mexico is responsible for setting and executing ArcBest's strategy and end-to-end performance for all current business moving into, within, and out of Mexico, as well as the exploration and expansion of ArcBest's business inside Mexico. The role provides executive leadership across commercial, operational, financial, and people priorities to deliver profitable growth, service excellence, and a scalable Mexico network. This leader partners across the enterprise (e.g., sales, operations, finance, legal, compliance, HR, marketing, and technology) to ensure safe, compliant, and customer-focused execution while advancing ArcBest's competitive position in the Mexico and cross-border marketplace.

Responsibilities
  • Drive innovation and change management to enhance service offerings, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
  • Drive operational excellence through standard work, KPIs, and continuous improvement; optimize network performance across ports of entry, facilities, and supporting processes.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing leadership team; establish talent plans, succession pipelines, and bi-national cultural integration to support long-term scalability.
  • Lead profitable growth through market analysis, opportunity identification, service design, and disciplined investment/return evaluation for Mexico expansion.
  • Represent ArcBest at appropriate industry events and customer forums to strengthen market presence and brand credibility in Mexico-related services.
  • Partner with Technology and Product teams to advance digital visibility, customer experience, analytics, and workflow automation for Mexico operations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure pricing, service commitments, legal/compliance reviews, and customer onboarding are executed effectively and consistently.
  • Own P&L performance for Mexico business portfolio, including budgeting, forecasting, cost-to-serve management, and margin improvement initiatives.
  • Other duties and projects, as assigned.
  • Ensure robust risk management and business continuity planning, including contingency playbooks for border disruptions, capacity constraints, security events, and regulatory changes.
  • Develop and execute multi-year strategy for Mexico-related services and capabilities, aligning with ArcBest enterprise objectives and go-to-market priorities.
  • Prepare and present regular performance and strategy updates to executive leadership, including risks, opportunities, and investment recommendations.
  • Build and maintain executive-level customer, carrier, and partner relationships; lead strategic negotiations and partnership expansion to strengthen network capability.
  • Serve as a senior representative for ArcBest in Mexico-related forums and, as appropriate, with regulatory and government stakeholders; ensure strong compliance posture across U.S. and Mexico requirements.
  • Oversee operations for freight moving into Mexico, within Mexico, and out of Mexico, ensuring safety, quality, compliance, and consistent customer experience.

Requirements
Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field, required
  • Master's Degree, preferred
Experience:
  • 15+ years Progressive experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management, including significant Mexico and/or cross-border scope.
  • 7 years Senior leadership experience with direct accountability for multi-site operations and cross-functional influence.
  • Demonstrated success delivering profitable growth, operational scalability, and customer solutions in complex, regulated environments.

  • Excellent communication, executive presence, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong financial acumen, including P&L management and investment/business case evaluation.
  • Working knowledge of U.S.-Mexico trade, customs, and regulatory considerations (direct experience preferred).
  • Experience leading multi-cultural, bi-national teams and influencing across matrixed organizations.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish, preferred

Other Details
Work Hours:
  • Generally, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm with occasional irregular hours depending on workload.
Travel Requirements:
  • Occasional (25%-50%) Occasional travel within the United States and Mexico.
Compensation:
  • This is a salary position paid biweekly.
