Job Description
Dock Workers are responsible for loading and unloading trailers for the purpose of transporting a wide variety of cargo, moving cargo, driving a forklift, or using a pallet jack or other freight for transit. Effectively and efficiently operating mobile technology and completing all required paperwork. Actual duties and schedule may vary depending on terminal location.

Responsibilities
  • Operate mobile technology.
  • Operate forklift, pallet jack or other material handling equipment.
  • Load and unload trailers.
  • Other duties and projects, as assigned.
  • Complete all required paperwork.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma / GED, required.
  • Candidates must have at least one year of LTL forklift experience to be considered for the full-time position. If you do not possess one year of LTL forklift experience, please apply for the part-time posting. 
  • Full-time hires will start as a casual dock employee for the duration of their training until successfully passing a yard skills test (approximately 3 weeks after hire.)
  • Be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and meet medical requirements.
  • Shift days and hours required for this position may include days, nights, and/or weekends since this facility is a 24/7 operation. Being able to work the required hours at this location will be considered a minimum requirement.

  • Make more money! Wages are Teamster Union Scale which are greater than most other carriers! Hourly employees also receive overtime pay after 8 hours/day.

Work Hours:
  • Schedule may vary depending on Service Center location.  This location is a 24/7 operation.
Compensation:
  • This is a hourly position paid weekly.

In accordance with the Illinois Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the pay during training will be $17.75 per hour. After training, the range of pay for this position is a five year progression from $21.72-$31.03 per hour.
