Job Description
The Engineer - Solutions Engineer plays a critical role in the Vaux commercial organization by helping customers evaluate, design, and operationalize material handling and warehouse automation solutions across the Vaux Technology Suite. This position partners closely with Sales, Customer Success, and Product teams to support complex enterprise opportunities from discovery through deployment planning. The Engineer - Solutions Engineer serves as the operational and technical advisor throughout the sales process, helping customers understand how Vaux solutions integrate into real-world warehouse, logistics, and manufacturing environments. This position requires a combination of operational understanding, technical aptitude, consultative problem solving, and strong customer communication skills, and involves navigating warehouse operations, evaluating workflows, supporting pilot design, and translating customer requirements into scalable operational solutions. The Engineer - Solutions Engineer functions as a trusted advisor capable of bridging customer operations, technical capabilities, and commercialization strategy.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with Sales throughout the sales process to support technical and operational discovery.
  • Conduct onsite operational walkthroughs and workflow assessments across warehouse, manufacturing, and logistics environments.
  • Analyze customer workflows, material handling processes, operational constraints, and automation opportunities.
  • Identify customer pain points.
  • Help customers evaluate operational fit and deployment readiness for Vaux solutions.
  • Design and recommend customer-specific workflows and operational solutions.
  • Support pilot planning, operational modeling, and deployment preparation activities.
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Deployment teams to validate technical feasibility and operational alignment.
  • Assist with customer presentations, technical reviews, demonstrations, and solution workshops.
  • Support development of operational proposals, pilot scopes, workflow diagrams, solution documentation, and customer business cases.
  • Partner closely with Sales teams to support opportunity progression across the commercial lifecycle.
  • Help develop operational ROI models and value-based customer recommendations.
  • Coordinate with Customer Success and Deployment teams to ensure successful transition from pre-sale to implementation.
  • Provide field feedback.
  • Develop deep expertise across warehouse operations, intralogistics workflows, material handling systems, industrial automation, robotics, and supply chain operations.
  • Maintain strong understanding of Vaux capabilities, deployment models, and operational use cases.
  • Support industry events, trade shows, customer demonstrations, and strategic partner engagements as needed.
  • Serve as a trusted operational advisor to both customers and internal commercial teams.
  • Other duties and projects, as assigned.

Requirements
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, Industrial Technology, or related field, preferred.
  • Equivalent experience in relevant technical field may also be considered in lieu of education.
Experience:
  • Prior experience in warehouse operations, material handling, industrial automation, robotics, intralogistics, supply chain engineering, manufacturing operations, solutions engineering, or technical consulting.
  • Experience supporting enterprise sales or customer-facing operational solution design, preferred.
Computer Skills:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Atlassian Suite, Salesforce, or similar CRM platforms.

Other Details
Work Hours:
  • Generally, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm with occasional irregular hours depending on workload and customer coverage needs.
Travel Requirements:
  • Occasional (25%-50%) to customer sites, industry events, and internal meetings.
Compensation:
  • This is a salary position paid biweekly.

In accordance with the Equal Pay Transparency information, the pay range for this position is $68,000 – $85,000, will fluctuate based on location and experience. Subject to a market adjustment based on nationwide location.
