The Engineer - Deployment plays a critical role in transforming innovative technologies into real-world solutions. This position supports first-time deployments and/or leads complex enterprise rollouts to ensure successful deployments of Vaux solutions. The Engineer - Deployment collaborates with internal teams, third-party vendors, and customers to prepare facilities, configure systems, and deliver training that empowers customers to succeed. This position requires relocation to client deployment sites for extended periods to support on-site implementation and operations.

Responsibilities
- Configure and troubleshoot AMRs, networks (Wi-Fi, LTE/5G, CBRS), and Vaux systems.
- Deliver customized training and certification programs to customer stakeholders.
- Work in a team setting to accomplish departmental goals.
- Maintain a positive attitude in a highly intense environment.
- Perform 2D/3D site mapping, facility layout planning, and network analysis.
- Implement policies, procedures, and workflows to support consistent application of practices and compliance regulations.
- Demonstrate correct and safe equipment operation.
- Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting support to robotics software engineers, helping to diagnose and debug issues related to software performance, compatibility, and functionality.
- Independently manage deployments for small to medium customer sites.
- Support the customer by providing expertise during the installation and configuration of Vaux systems.
- Document deployments in preparation to hand off to the long-term support team.
- Collaborate with Product teams to resolve potential issues/bugs and provide feedback on lessons learned.
- Other duties and projects, as assigned.
Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or related field, preferred
- Equivalent work experience in relevant technical field may also be considered.
- 1 year of experience in deploying and/or supporting robotic systems.
- 1 year of experience in either software development or technical support.
- 1 year of experience in managing and supporting Windows and Linux operating environments.
- Proficient in Linux, Microsoft Office Suite, HTML, Confluence, and Jira.
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and create clear technical documentation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Commitment to exceptional customer service, with the flexibility to participate in on-call rotations and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to understand and link related business requirements with corporate strategies and capabilities.
- Proficient in conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for intricate system issues.
- Working knowledge of ROS/ROS2, version control, and networks (such as DNS, DHCP, SSL, OSI Model, and TCP/IP).
- Possess a mix of technical prowess and adeptness in supporting our Autonomy system.
- Ability to adapt in dynamic environments, apply strong problem-solving skills, think creatively, manage projects effectively, and exhibit a high level of drive and motivation.
- Exhibit a consulting mindset, a deep sense of accountability, meticulous attention to detail, a fervor for software and operational issue resolution, expertise in technical support, and a collaborative spirit within the Autonomy team.
- Willingness and ability to relocate to assigned client deployment locations, either temporarily or for extended periods, based on project needs.
- Flexibility to support varying deployment timelines, including changes in duration, location, and schedule as customer requirements evolve.
- Ability to work primarily on-site at customer facilities to support implementation, operations, troubleshooting, and customer engagement.

Other Details
Work Hours:
- Generally, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm with occasional irregular hours depending on workload.
- Moderate (50%-75%)
- This is a salary position paid biweekly.
In accordance with the California Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the starting pay for this position ranges between $75,000.00 and $94,000.00 annually but will be negotiated at the time of offer DOE
