Job Description
The Receiving and Inventory Specialist III manages the accurate entry of inventory data into the ERP system and acts as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for various inventory processes. This position is responsible for unloading, inspecting, counting, and recording the receipt of all delivered goods to ensure that orders are correctly fulfilled. The Receiving and Inventory Specialist III reports shortages and damages that occurred during shipment to their manager or directly to the shipping agent. This position also focuses heavily on identifying and implementing process improvements within the receiving and inventory management functions.

Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory levels to support business operations.
- Oversee the placement and organization of inventory in designated bin locations.
- Match shipments to their associated purchase orders and enter receiving data accurately into company databases/systems.
- Work in a team setting to accomplish departmental goals.
- Inspect shipments for damage and verify correct quantities.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with team members and vendors.
- Identify and address inventory discrepancies.
- Ensure proper labeling, tagging, and documentation of all incoming and outgoing inventory.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures for inventory control and quality assurance.
- Conduct inventory audits as directed by management.
- Package and return damaged products to vendors as needed.
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for reporting processes related to inventory management, received goods, damages, and returns.
- Other duties and projects, as assigned.
- Report damages or shortages to the appropriate department or manager.
- Explore new business opportunities as assigned.
- Unload and unpack all shipments of products.
- Work collaboratively in a team environment to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Address and resolve issues promptly.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to inventory and storage.
- Assist in implementing new inventory management systems or process improvements.
Requirements
Education:
- High School Diploma / GED, required
- Bachelor's Degree, preferred
- 4 years of experience in a similar role, preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Upon Hire, required
- Forklift certification within 90 Days, required
- Lean Six Sigma (Yellow Belt) within 1-1/2 Yrs, required
- Familiarity with ArcBest procedures and tools. within 30 Days, preferred
- Basic math and organizational skills are a must, as the job requires the adjustment of stock quantities and organization of inventory. Upon Hire, required

Other Details
Work Hours:
- Generally, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm with occasional irregular hours depending on workload.
- Minimal (0-25%) Travel may be required.
- This is an hourly position paid biweekly.
