Job Description
The Director, Finance and Operations for ArcBest Technologies' Vaux/Intralogistics division is a strategic financial leader responsible for overseeing all financial planning, analysis, procurement, legal, and reporting functions for ArcBest Technologies' Vaux/Intralogistics division, as well as managing the Senior Manager, Operations - Vaux overseeing production and manufacturing, inventory, equipment support, industrial safety and quality. This role ensures financial integrity, supports data-driven decision-making, and aligns financial operations with the company's strategic goals. The Director leads budgeting, forecasting, capital investment analysis, and financial reporting, while also mentoring and developing finance team members. This position plays a critical role in driving operational efficiency and financial performance across the division.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and execution of financial strategies that support the division’s growth and operational goals.
  • Oversee Vaux functional responsibility for Finance, Legal, Procurement, and Operations.
  • Oversee the annual budgeting process, monthly forecasting, and long-range financial planning.
  • Provide financial leadership for capital investment decisions, including ROI analysis and risk assessment.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to corporate finance and executive leadership.
  • Monitor financial performance, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain robust financial processes, controls, and reporting systems.
  • Supervise and mentor the other finance team members.
  • Coordinate collaboration between the Vaux team and the ArcBest legal counsel (internal and external).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage procurement function, leading negotiations with vendors, and ensuring the Engineering teams and Operations teams can procure necessary products, components and services within needed timelines and appropriate price.
  • Supervise the Operations leader, ensuring production, manufacturing, inventory, capital equipment, safety and quality functions are properly tracked financially and monitored in line with FP&A.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives and operational improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and audit requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings, efficiency improvements, and financial innovation.
  • Represent the finance function in strategic planning, business reviews, and executive discussions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field, required.
  • Master's Degree (MBA) or CPA, preferred.
Experience
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in financial leadership roles, preferred.
  • Experience in intralogistics, supply chain, manufacturing, or technology sectors preferred.
  • Proven track record in budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and capital planning.
Computer Skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
