Job Description
The Student Worker, Customer Service manages a variety of shipments and addresses customer concerns. This position requires superior customer service skills as well as the efficient utilization of resources including effective customer, service center, and field communication to make decisions that resolve urgent transportation-related scenarios.

Responsibilities
  • Create bills of lading (BOL's) and provide shipment-specific documentation.
  • Other duties and projects, as assigned.
  • Provide accurate information regarding multiple services and solutions offered by ArcBest.
  • Handle a large volume of interactions through multiple channels including phone, email, and chat.
  • Provide tracking updates and communicate delivery modifications.
  • Maintain effective lines of communication with internal and external customers.
  • Use multiple systems and programs in support of customer needs and expectations.
  • Identify customer requirements to generate quotes tailored to their shipping needs.
  • Schedule pickup requests and submit rate corrections.

Requirements
Education:
  • Currently pursuing high school diploma as a Junior or Senior with a minimum GPA of 2.5. Must be at least 16 years of age.
Experience:
  • No prior experience necessary
Computer Skills:
  • Proficient understanding of PC and mainframe computer applications, including Microsoft Office programs, required

Other Details
Work Hours:
  • This is a part-time position that will average fewer than 30 hours per week. Work hours generally fall between 6:00 am - 8:00 pm with occasional irregular hours depending on workload and school schedule.
Compensation:
  • This is a hourly position paid biweekly.
