Responsibilities
- Other duties, as assigned
- Work in a team setting to accomplish department goals
- Maintain a positive attitude in a highly intense environment
- Meet with Manager- Linehaul Operations and discuss issues
- Issue progressive discipline
- Process vacation and other time off requests
- Educate and train drivers in accident and injury prevention
- Bring awareness and focus to safety issues
- Review and process driver logs
- Set up and administer driver bids
- Direct road drivers regarding payroll, human resources, industrial relations, and safety issues, as needed
- Implement, manage, process, and control administrative functions regarding all road drivers domiciled at assigned location
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree, required
- Experience in the transportation and/or freight industry
- Understanding of payroll, Industrial Relations, and current labor contract, required
- Knowledge of ABF Freight policies, human resources, and ABF Freight and DOT safety requirements, required
- Ability to train drivers in accident and injury prevention, required
- Interpersonal skills, required
- Must be detail oriented and enjoy a fast paced, multi-tasking, customer service minded environment, required
- Must have excellent verbal and written communications and organizational skills, required
- Must display sense of urgency, ability to work under pressure, with attention to detail, required

Other Details
- Generally, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday through Friday with occasional irregular hours depending on workload.
- This is a salary position paid biweekly.
- Variable compensation is included.
